Celebration of National Education Day

Date: 11-11-2024

Department of Education, UIE celebrated National Education Day on November 11, 2024 under the guidance of Dr. Aneet Kumar, Dean UIE to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of Independent India.Debate competition and Poster-making competition were organized by the department. Furthermore, students delivered speeches and recited various poems to celebrate the occasion. Baljeet Kaur, student of B.Ed. semester 1 was adjudged as the winner of Poster-making competition. Reena Rani, Vishakha, Harjit Kaur and Usha Devi were the winners of debate competition. Stage was conducted by Balpreet Kaur and Mandeep Kaur.
Dr. Harpreet Singh, HOD (Humanities) and Dr. Anita Rani from Department of Punjabi were the judges of Debate competition. Ms. Mandip Kaur and Ms. Rupinder Kaur from Fashion Designing department judged the Poster-Making Competition. Dr. Mandeep Singh, Dy. Dean UIE delivered the introductory speech. He laid stress upon the role of education for transformation of society towards a better tomorrow. Dr. Sham Sunder Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Education presented his views regarding the significance of education in holistic development of an individual. Faculty members from Department of Education and Department of Humanities and Fashion Design were present during the event.
